Around-A-Town #5

Alright - a little on this latest installment of AAT: While it will be a challenge for some to identify this location, the day I took these photos is emblazened permanently in my memory. It was, in two words, simply amazing. I'd welcome all questions and guesses (!) in the comments section below.

  5. To everyone who guessed South Africa - you're correct! All of these photos are from Zwelethemba, a township in the Western Cape (so close katiemckinna!) near Worcester.

    While it's clear the children absolutely stole the scene (they were so playful), it's the third photo down (the one with the woman with her back to the camera) that broke my heart. Behind her is one of only two bathrooms in the township with running water(you can see it with the yellow sink on the side) for hundreds of residents. These were taken in 2000, so I sincerely hope bathroom (and other) conditions have changed since then.
